Traffic Delays Tuesday

Calaveras County, CA — Traffic will be slow-and-go on a stretch of Highway 49 in Calaveras County.

Caltrans will be paving Highway 49 on Tuesday, as part of a fog seal operation. Motorists should expect 20-minute delays if traveling north of San Andreas to the Calaveras-Amador border.

Caltrans reports that Highway 49 will be closed beginning at the Highway 12 intersection and stretching north five miles to an area near Mokelumne Hill from 5:30am-1pm. A signed detour will be in place, and Caltrans is estimating that it will result in 20 minute traffic delays. Click here to view a map.

The same work will be taking placing during the afternoon hours along Highway 49 from the junction of Highway 26 in Mokelumne Hill to the Calaveras-Amador county line. There will be a one-way traffic control operation in place from 1-5pm, and Caltrans is again estimating 20 minute delays. Click here to view a map.
