Pair Injured In Calaveras Crash

Sonora, CA — Two Bay Area residents were hurt in a rollover vehicle accident in Calaveras County over the weekend.

The CHP reports that 51-year-old Danny Geul of Fremont was driving a 2003 Ford pickup truck on Highway 26 near Olive Orchard Road when he went off the road, hit a fence and allowed the vehicle to overturn. Geul was taken to Doctor’s Medical Center to treat moderate injuries. His only passenger, 51-year-old Phong Thu Quach of Hayward, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center.

The San Andreas CHP Office believes that Geul was driving under the influence, and he could face criminal charges. The crash occurred at 9:40pm on Saturday.
