Washington Street Closed In Downtown Sonora

Sonora, CA — There is a traffic hazard to be aware of this morning.

The Sonora Police Department reports that a stretch of Washington Street is closed because a vehicle has reportedly had a pretty large transmission spill that needs to be cleaned up. The PD reports that north and southbound Washington Street traffic is being diverted from the Red Church to Courthouse Park (to Stewart and Green Streets). Motorists will want to avoid the area.

It is unknown how long Washington Street will be closed.
