Motorists Reprieve

Jamestown, CA — Caltrans Construction on HWY 49 in Jamestown was finished a day early. All this week, motorists faced long delays on their morning commute through Jamestown. The roadway was down to one-way traffic since Monday from Bell Mooney Road near Woods Creek to Harvard Mine Road while crews did grinding and paving. Also, the right and left turn lanes on the highway were closed in that area.

Caltrans Spokesperson Angela Daprato says, “Crews were very diligent. We knew that there would be a lot of traveling this weekend so they tried to get the work done as soon as possible. This was a very necessary maintenance project and we want to thank the motorists for their patience.”

The project was scheduled to last until tomorrow at 1pm.  Click here for a map of the road repair site.
