San Andreas, CA — A 26-year old San Andreas man died after his motorcycle hit head-on into a pick-up truck around 6:40 this morning. The CHP reports Michael Thein was driving a 2004 Suzuki R GSX in the 5900 block of Pool Station Road off of Highway 49 at a high rate of speed.
32 year-old Michael McPhee, also of San Andreas, turned onto Pool Station road in his 2011 Chevy pickup truck. The CHP reports McPhee says he had his windows down and did not hear or see any oncoming traffic. He says he looked both ways and then pulled out onto the roadway. McPhee stated suddenly he saw the motorcycle come over the crest of the hill. The CHP says Thein hit his brakes and skidded into the left front corner of the truck. Thein was pronounced dead at the scene.
