Murphys Woman Hurt In Crash

Murphys, CA — The CHP has released new information about a head-on crash that occurred in Murphys.


As reported previously, two vehicles collided last Thursday along Murphys Grade Road, west of French Gulch Road. The CHP reports that 20-year-old Danielle Reber of Las Cruces, New Mexico was driving eastbound and became temporarily blinded by the sun. Her 2003 Chevy Cobalt drifted into the opposing traffic lane and hit a 1998 Honda Accord driven by 65-year-old Doris Segale of Murphys.


Reber had minor to moderate injuries and was air-lifted to Modesto Memorial Hospital. Segale was flown to Doctor’s Medical Center to treat major injuries. The accident was reported at 5:15pm.
