More than 2-hundred poor Sacramento families who feared losing their apartments will be staying put. It´s an early Christmas present from a federal judge.
Early this year Judge Lawrence Karlton blocked the sale of apartment complexes, where new owners planned to hike rents. A court settlement guarantees that nearly two-thirds of the units will remain affordable.
Housing advocates call it a victory. Residents say they´re just happy to feel safe again.
