Anaheim Shooter Gets Life Plus

A man who shot an Anaheim police officer in the face during a traffic stop last year will spend at least 43 years in prison.

Juan Carlos Alcaraz was sentenced yesterday to 38 years to life in prison, plus two life terms. He was convicted in August of trying to kill Officer Thomas Kasey Geary in July of 2000. Geary testified that he needed eight months of hospitalization and rehabilitation before he was able to return to work.
