State senate President Pro Tem John Burton is calling on Governor Davis to renegotiate California´s
long-term energy contracts for fear the state will be stuck paying high prices for a very long time.
Burton says the state has the power to renegotiate
because it signed the contracts under what he calls “economic duress” at the height of the state´s energy crisis.
