A spark from yard maintenance equipment being used to clear weeds touched off a 2 acre woodland and
brush fire yesterday near Lambert Lake.
Sonora fire chief Mike Barrows says the blaze was brought under control quickly, but it´s too late in the year
to be using that kind of equipment. The massive “Leonard” fire in Calaveras County last week started exactly the same way.
