Weekend Wildfires in Northern California

Authorities are investigating the causes of two wind-whipped wildfires in Northern California that blackened
over 400 acres.

A 400-plus acre wildfire in Butte County destroyed two buildings and sent two firefighters to the hospital with heat exhaustion
yesterday afternoon.

In northeastern Tehama County — a 52-acre wildfire burned through private timberland near Manton as winds topped 40 miles
per hour.
