Farmers To Get Faster Hearing

A federal appeals court has agreed to grant farmers an expedited hearing in their case challenging federal air-quality rules. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco had scheduled a hearing in April, a few weeks before farmers faced their first deadline to comply with the new rules.

The California Farm Bureau argued the government should not be allowed to impose the new rules before scientific studies are finished.
