Metal Sculpture Displayed At College

Contemporary metal sculpture will be on display through Dec. 16 in the Rotunda of the Manzanita Building on the Columbia College campus. The featured works were created by students of Mack Frost, a veteran art and welding instructor at the college.

Artists include Ken Ingram and Myrna L. Petersen of Sonora, Holly Foiles of Big Oak Flat, John Moore of Groveland, Christine Spracklin of Columbia and Anne Zils of Twain Harte. The display shows a wide range of student styles and themes, which draws the immediate interest of all viewers. In fact, these unique pieces are well worth seeing by all ages.

The metal sculpture exhibit is being conducted simultaneously in the Rotunda with a water-theme art show “Water: a Community Survey,” which continues through Dec. 19. There is no charge for admission, but the Rotunda hours are Monday to Thursday (8 a.m.-8 p.m.) and Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
