New Superintendent Named At Sonora Elementary

The Sonora Elementary School District has a new superintendent.

Outgoing Superintendent Joe Silva said the board voted to hire Ken Harbord at its meeting Monday night.

Harbord was a superintendent in Redding for two years, and before that a principal in the Enterprise School District.

Harbord was in town today, learning his way around.

“I took Ken around today to meet people and see the town,” Silva said. “He´s very excited about the opportunities here at Sonora Elementary. It´s a great staff; great kids.”

Silva is leaving the district to become the Tuolumne County superintendent of schools.
