Firefighter Hit At Accident Scene

A Calaveras County volunteer firefighter was hit by a vehicle while at the scene of an injury vehicle accident on Mountain Ranch Road this morning. According to a Tuolumne-Calaveras County Fire department spokesman, the extent of the injuries is not known at this time. The firefighter, from the Central Fire department was taken by air ambulance to a Modesto Hospital for treatment.

The two other victims of the initial vehicle crash east of San Andreas, suffered minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is doing an investigation at this time and Mountain Ranch Road is closed to traffic. Motorists are being diverted onto Cave City Road to Michel Road.
