The state Department of Insurance says homeowners insurance in California is becoming a crisis. Californians who file homeowners claims increasingly are enduring inflated rates or are dumped by their insurer and blackballed.
Premiums have risen by more than 15 percent this year and State Farm General Insurance — the state´s largest insurer — has stopped writing new homeowners policies.
