Tuolumne Utilities District water crews worked through the night and into the early morning Friday to move two water meters from the existing sidewalk along Greenley Road at the Sonora Plaza shopping center in Sonora.
According to TUD´s Tom Scesa, crews started at midnight so businesses in the center would not be without water due to the construction-caused shut off.
Scesa said crews relocated the water lines and meters and update the piping connections since they would have been located in the middle of the new traffic lane being built as part of the new intersection widening project at Mono Way.
