Calaveras County firefighters have contained a grass and brush fire near Armstrong Road west of Arnold. The blaze ended up burning 6 acres, after it was touched off Thursday night by a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the steep rugged area.
Crews expect to be mopping up through the day, and residents in the vicinity can expect to see some residual smoke.
