A bill being signed by Governor Gray Davis this afternoon opens the way for stem cell researchers to expand their work in California. The bill was opposed by anti-abortion and church groups. It also contradicts President Bush´s efforts to limit research using stem cells found in human embryos, umbilical cords and placentas.
