Bond Measure To Ease Overcrowding In Colleges

Record enrollment and a lack of state money are being blamed for large class sizes and long waiting lists for required courses at the state’s community colleges and some universities. School officials say colleges are doing everything they can to provide alternative classes for students. In November, state voters will consider approving a $13 billion bond measure that would give $1.6 billion to California’s colleges and universities to help ease overcrowding and renovate aging campuses.
