Governor Davis signed a bill today doubling the move-out warning notice landlords must give their month-to-month tenants – giving renters 60 days to leave instead of 30.
Davis cited a Japanese billionaire´s 30-day eviction notices earlier this year to 570 rental households in northern California as a factor in his decision.
The bill applies only to tenants who have rented from a landlord longer than a year.
