An early start for firefighters in two Mother Lode communities. Crews took less than 15 minutes to contain a small vegetation fire in the Groveland area, just after 3:00. It briefly threatened an outbuilding in the 16,000 block of Kline Street.
A short time later in Murphys, crews handled a fire in the CHP Weigh station. The blaze was confined to that small building, and no one was hurt. Both fires are under investigation.
