Attendance Down, Livestock Sales Up At Fair

Attendance was down for this year´s Mother Lode Fair, not a surprising development for Fair Manager Jan Haydenmeyer. She says the high temperatures, ranging to 112 degrees, kept the overall number down to 24,832 over the four days.

The Junior Livestock auction, on the other hand, may have set a record for gross sales. Haydenmeyer says she still has to check the history, but the $218,736.00 figure is a 15% increase over last year´s take. 180 animals were sold this year, up from 169 last year.
