Davis Staff The Focus Of Oracle Hearing

A legislative committee investigating the state´s 95 million dollar computer deal with Oracle Corp. will focus Monday on several aides to Governor Gray Davis. Also, a spokesman for the governor says, state finance director Tim Gage will meet with Oracle officials to discuss ending the contract that the state auditor says could waste up to 41 million dollars.

So far, two aides to Davis have resigned in the last 10 days while another has been suspended as the controversy surrounding the deal continues. The contract to sell and license database management software was reached last May without competitive bids.
