Helmet Law Continues

Motorcyclists aged twenty-one and older must continue wearing helmets after a bill to exempt them failed in the state Assembly Thursday.

Supporters of mandatory helmets prevailed by one vote, killing the bill. It would have let motorcyclists who can prove they have a million dollars worth of insurance ride without helmets.

Those favoring an end to mandatory helmets argue it´s a matter of personal choice. But opponents of the idea say the costs of more brain dead accident victims would be too high.
