Election Move Passes First Hurdle

A bill that would move California´s primary election for state and congressional candidates from March to June has been approved by an Assembly committee.

California currently holds its primary election on the first Tuesday in March in even-numbered years. Critics say that´s too early to attract many voters, particularly when presidential candidates aren´t on the ballot.
