Governor Gray Davis asked the federal government yesterday to cover 100 percent of what state and local agencies spent taking emergency measures during the deadly Southern California wildfires. He also asked that it cover the cost of cleaning up debris.
The Office of Emergency Services has estimated the total cost to be more than $180 million.
