Assembly Approves Financial Privacy Bill

The California Assembly has approved a bill that would give consumers the ability to block dissemination of their financial information.

Yesterday´s 76-to-1 vote came after the bill breezed through three committees in about two hours on the Legislature´s first day back from a summer recess.

The bill would enable consumers to block the sharing or selling of their personal information by banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
