Body Recovered From River

Tuolumne County authorities have recovered the body of a Chico-area woman who slipped and fell into the Middle Fork of the Tuolumne River two weeks ago.

Authorities say 21-year-old Casey Jackson, a driver for a private Jewish camp near Yosemite, had hiked to a waterfall with friends July 19 when she slipped and fell 20 to 30 feet into the water below.

Another woman with Jackson jumped into the water to save her and was injured.

Search and rescue personnel were unable to recover Jackson´s body until Saturday.
