Murphys Hopes Voters Want Firefighters

The Murphys Fire Protection District Board of Directors hopes to put a special tax on the June ballot to help hire firefighters and upgrade equipment.

Last year, the district responded to over four hundred calls. It has less than thirty fire volunteers and only one full time firefighter.

If the board of directors can come up with a tax proposal, they want to–among other things–hire two full-time firefighters and purchase a vehicle that will only be used for medical calls.
