Governor Gray Davis said in the Democrats´ national radio address this morning that federal funding for homeland security has been only a fraction of what state and local governments have expended. Davis says California alone is spending
one-half billion dollars a year for increased security since the September eleventh attacks. After Davis taped his remarks yesterday the government said $566 million is going to states for anti-terrorism efforts. California´s share of the money
is $45 million.
