Sex Offender Bill Clears First Hurdle

A bill requiring convicted sex offenders to register again with law enforcement when they return to a community has cleared its first legislative hurdle. The bill, AB-150, passed unanimously today in the Assembly€™s Public Safety Committee. The legislation was written to clarify an existing law that required convicted sex offenders to re-register within five days of returning to a community.
