One Humboldt County Tree Sitter Comes Down

One of the tree-sitters living in a redwood on land owned by a lumber company has been brought down from her tree by professional climbers. The woman, who goes by the name “Remedy,” was one week short of her one year anniversary living in the tree she named “Jerry.”

It took several hours to bring Remedy down. Squad cars were waiting on the ground. 17 tree-sitters remain in redwoods on Pacific Lumber land in Humboldt County. They were ordered out of the trees last week by a judge, but refused to come down.

The activists claim Pacific lumber´s timber harvesting practices are too aggressive and harm the environment.
