Public Hearing Thursday For Local OHV Grants

A public hearing tomorrow in Sacramento by the Off Highway Vehicle commission will determine if the Stanislaus National Forest will receive grant funding from the California State Parks OHV Recreation Division for OHV trails on public lands. According to Stanislaus Off Highway Vehicle Manager Lonnie Allison, state commissioners will be at the meeting to hear concerns of four-wheel drive, snow mobile, motorcycle and other off-highway vehicle users. Sources say Calaveras District ranger Rob Griffith will be at the hearing to be held at the Lion Gate Hotel at McClellan Air Base. That public hearing begins at 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
