Federal Grant Puts Produce Into Senior Hands

California is getting an $800,000 federal grant to help low-income seniors buy fresh produce at farmers´ markets. Qualifying seniors receive coupons to exchange for fresh produce at participating farmers´ markets and roadside stands. The Department of Agriculture´s program aims to improve nutrition for seniors and bring more customers to farmers´ markets.
