California Gets Money for Beaches

California is getting a federal grant to help protect its beaches. The Environmental Protection Agency has given the state over $500,000 to better monitor its water quality, and to notify the public of beach closings. The money is part of a $10 million grant the E.P.A. has made available to states this year to help fix their beaches.
