City: Hearing Soon On Police Tactics

The Oakland City Council´s public safety committee is expected to hold a hearing soon to review the police response to an anti-war demonstration at the Port of Oakland Monday.

Protesters, civil rights groups and several members of the City Council expressed concern about the use of sandbags, wooden dowels and “sting balls” to disperse protesters. At least a dozen people were injured.
