Eighty of the state Assembly´s highest-paid staffers received pay increases in the past year as lawmakers struggled with the budget crisis. More than a third of administrators and consultants were given raises. Most pay increases were about five percent, but nearly two dozen exceeded that. At least one employee received a nearly 50 percent boost in pay.
