Some might think twice before taking a cab ride in Sonora. The cost is going up. The Sonora City Council this week approved allowing companies to raise the flat rate from $4.25 up to $5.50.
The old rate had been in place since 1994, when the city first started regulating the service. Many cities regulate the cost of taking cab rides.
There are three taxi cab companies in Sonora.
