Two Bike Riders Injured In Moke Hill

Two Stockton area bicyclists were injured near Mokelumne Hill yesterday after being hit by a pick-up truck

The CHP says 47-year-old David Elliott and 38-year-old Albert Boyce were riding on Highway 26 yesterday morning around 9:00 AM when 78-year-old Thomas Abby from Railroad Flat rounded a curve in the highway that prevented him from seeing the cyclists. Abby struck one of the cyclists, who was then thrown into his companion.

Elliot was air-lifted to San Joaquin County Hospital for treatment of his injuries and released. The CHP says helmets prevented serious injury to the bike riders.
