A California prison inmate who escaped custody nearly 24 years ago is behind bars again in Reno.
California Department of Corrections officials say an informant´s tip led to the arrest today of 47-year-old Ray Wade Bell of Modesto. In Reno, where Bell runs an auto repair business, he is known as Charles Winter. Officials say the minimum security inmate escaped the Sierra Conservation Center in Tuolomne County in 1979.
He was serving a two-year sentence for burglary and attempted burglary.
