Perfect Weather for the Fourth

Forecasters are predicting picture perfect weather in the Mother Lode for this July Fourth holiday weekend. Daytime temperatures should remain hot – in the upper 80s to mid-90s through Monday. Overnight, temperatures will drop down into the mid 60-degree range depending on what elevation you are located.

Expect to see more thunderstorm activity and those huge thunderhead cloud formations in the upper elevation regions of the foothills and Sierra Nevada mountains. Some of that cloud cover could blow back over the lower elevations areas making for partly cloudy skies. No rain is predicted.

Mother Lode area fire officials continue to urge visitors and residents alike to be very careful with fire and fireworks this weekend as well. Conditions in the region are very dry.

As a reminder, fireworks of any kind are illegal in Tuolumne County and some parts of Calaveras County. Check with your local fire department for exact rules and regulations.
