Five people were sent to area hospitals with minor injuries this weekend after a roller coaster at the California State Fair malfunctioned. Cal Expo spokeswoman Erica Manuel says two children and three adults complained of neck and back injuries after the coaster´s car rolled backward and jerked to a stop. Manuel says the incident happened just as the ride was beginning and the car rolled only a few feet. But, she says that was enough to cause the very minor injuries.
