California Survey: Many Consider Moving Away

A statewide survey finds that high rents and rising home prices has a large percentage of Californians thinking about packing up and moving out of state.

The survey released today by the Public Policy Institute of California says that nearly one out of every four Californians are considering moving elsewhere, or leaving the state entirely because of high housing costs.

Today´s survey comes after a report earlier this month that found that most Californians can´t afford to buy a home.

The survey by the California Association of Realtors says with the median price of a home in the state now at 465-thousand dollars, only 19 percent of the state´s households can afford to buy a home.
