Transient Sentenced for Jamestown Beating Death

An update now on the sentence of 33-year-old Troy Spirk.

He´s the transient who was accused of the beating death of 50-year-old Steven Davis following an August argument in Jamestown.

Spirk will serve seven years in prison.

He reached a deal where he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property, and making criminal threats.

Had he gone to a jury trial, the sentence could have been 15 years to life if Spirk were convicted.
