Tuesday night was the Annual Installation Dinner for the new officers of the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce. Tom Mitchell, the County Administrative Officer, was the event´s keynote speaker. The topic was “Challenges Facing Calaveras County in the Next Five Years,” and Mitchell said their area has been blessed.
“We´ve had very strong leadership by our Board of Supervisors. They´ve been fiscally conservative. They´ve put away money. We´ve set aside for a rainy day… We have some resources to work with. Not as much as we´d like to have, but we´re more fortunate than others.”
Mitchell also emphasized the need for folks to get involved in their communities… and the need to make Calaveras County a place that their kids would want to come back to.
