Peterson Trial Gets Expensive for Television Media

The Scott Peterson murder trial is getting expensive for members of the media.

San Mateo County officials announced yesterday that television stations must pay 51-thousand dollars each to reserve a plot on a public street for the anticipated six-month trial.

In addition, television stations also must pay 75-hundred

dollars a month to parking their trucks. Some T-V producers are calling the rates outrageous.

Meantime, attorneys for Scott Peterson are seeking a delay of the double-murder trial scheduled to begin Monday. Peterson´s lawyer, Mark Geragos, says the case conflicts with another trial being handled by his defense lawyers.

Peterson faces the death penalty if convicted of two counts of murder for allegedly killing his pregnant wife, Laci, in their home and dumping her body in San Francisco Bay.
