Enjoy The Best of Broadway Series Through Columbia College

The Best of Broadway series bring some of the hottest and most exciting musicals from New York to Sacramento´s California Music Theatre. The best way to fully enjoy these shows is to travel comfortably aboard Columbia College Community Education´s bus. Along with transportation to the Thursday matinees, the excursions include first and second row seating in the grand tier.

The next show of the season offered through the college´s bus/theater package will be Andrew Lloyd Webber´s triumphant musical, Starlight Express, on Mar. 18.

“This show is like nothing you´ve seen before. It´s a high-velocity production that fuses state of the art technology, electrifying music and all-new dazzling sets and costumes by John Napier. Light years ahead of the rest, it´s two hours of speed, spectacle, excitement and energy. See it and still you won´t believe it! Starlight Express is a feel-good musical with something for everyone. It´s a story of hope and a story of love, filled with thrills, stunts and roller-racing action. The “Little Engine That Could” certainly can… deliver.” [review taken from California Musical Theatre brochure].

Two other Broadway series shows are scheduled for the future: Thoroughly Modern Millie on May 13 and The Producers on June 17.

For all bus/theater package matinees, the Columbia College excursion bus will leave the Junction Shopping Center in Sonora at 9:00 a.m. Cost is $76 per person, which covers transportation and a show ticket – lunch is optional. Reserve your seat for Starlight Express before Mar. 11 through the Community Education Office at 588-5144.
