Finished Bypass Section Is Just Around The Corner

Look for Stage One of the East Sonora Bypass to be completed by this summer.

Officials say the project is nine-tenths done, and what´s left amounts to painting the stripes and planting the landscape.

Construction began in 2001 for the 3-mile stretch.

Caltrans says the new bypass should reduce traffic congestion along Highway 108, and eventually, plans are to have it extend to the Twain Harte grade
