Cesar Chavez Day Marked By Some Closures

Today is a holiday… of sorts.

March 31st is Cesar Chavez Day, which commemorates the life and work of the Hispanic labor leader.

Chavez was born on this day in 1927, and is known for publicizing the plight of migrant workers in California and across the country.

State offices including the DMV, the courts and the CHP offices have the day off, in recognition of Cesar Chavez day.

CHP officers will still be on patrol.
